Photography
“I have been a witness, and these pictures are my testimony. The events I have recorded should not be forgotten.”
James Nachtwey
You’ve heard the phrase, “A photo is worth a thousand words.” But it’s not just the words that translate through the images. It’s the emotions, the story, and the photographer’s perspective that leaves onlookers awestruck. That’s the same experience we hope you have looking through the talented photographers featured here on Helia Lit.
A Guiding Light
The sun doesn’t simply illuminate the scene; it leads it. The beam cuts across the forest and settles onto the water, transforming an otherwise quiet woodland into something more symbolic, more purposeful. It feels less like an ending, and more like an invitation.
Sky On Fire
I just felt compelled to not just take a photo of the beautiful phenomenon in the sky but after taking the photo, to stand there and absorb it all without my camera. I loved every short minute I had with this sunset.
The Wild Hunt
Many cultures have the myth or legend of the “Riders on the Storm,” or “The Wild Hunt,” and they all draw upon the same idea: a spectral, ghostly, or supernatural hunting party crossing the sky, usually during winter storms.
Sunset At Lake Hefner
This picture marked the end of the summer 2025, and our last walk next to the lake. We soaked up the beauty and in awe of summer’s last breath before twilight.
